They are for people who want to feel better, have less pain and discomfort with their bodies, and have more energy.) I grew up the youngest of six children. We all got a college bachelor degree or higher, but I didn’t learn about the following nutritional concepts in that environment. Nor was it learned in graduate school or chiropractic school. I read a book in 1975 that changed my life. The book was There is a River - the biography of Edgar Cayce. This got me interested in holistic health and I started attending holistic health conferences, which got me to start thinking about these concepts. Why aren’t we more aware of health concepts when it comes to food? We are constantly bombarded by misinformation in the media. It has taken me years of questioning and trying things out for myself to come up with the following. A lot of human history is based on traditions. Throughout history, eating has been about survival. Even today numerous people die from starvation around the world daily. I had a lot of mixed emotions about writing an article that went against the traditions and acceptable ideas of centuries of human behavior. The number one reason for eating is survival. The second reason for eating is probably taste. What is number three? Number three may be eating to stay healthy. A number of years ago I tried The Adkins Diet. I was very impressed with my body’s feedback that I was burning fats as determined by the urinary dipstick. This went on for weeks until elimination gradually got more and more difficult with straining, constipation and constantly increasing fiber with additives until I realized I can’t live the rest of my life with difficult elimination. I remembered how motivating it was to have feedback from my own body and I thought what if there was some very easy way to get feedback from your body that you were doing the right thing for you. Wouldn’t this be very helpful for many people? The double E stands for easy elimination.
